If the air conditioner is essential to spend the summer comfortably, it also brings its share of drawbacks, in particular the fact of consuming a lot of energy. At least that's what we could blame the old models because the new air conditioners are much less energy efficient while being efficient. Monobloc mobile, split air conditioner or reversible air conditioner: whatever the version chosen, this type of device must always be used moderately.

Monobloc mobile air conditioner

The monobloc air conditioner is ultra simple to use and does not impose any constraints on the installation plan. It works thanks to a simple sheath whose diameter is generally between 14 and 20 centimeters. This type of air conditioner is economical to purchase. It is particularly recommended for tenants who, in the event of a move, can recover their device. Its second advantage is its mobility: it moves easily from one room to another as needed. It is through the duct that the hot air contained in the room to be cooled will be evacuated. To do this, simply introduce the flexible sheath of the monobloc air conditioner into the gap of a ajar leaf. It can be a window, a roof window, a picture window or a French window for example. After being sucked in, the air coming from the outside is first filtered and then rid of its excess humidity before being redistributed inside the house. Of course, a monobloc air conditioner cannot cool an entire house. For a room with an area of ​​70 to 80 M³, it is better to opt for a monobloc air conditioner with a power of 3,500 W. However, 2,500 W is sufficient for a space with a maximum area of ​​50 M³. Note that this device is quite noisy.

Fixed split air conditioner

Unlike the portable monobloc air conditioner, the split involves a double outlet to the outside: one being reserved for the evacuation of hot air from the inside to the outside, the other for the suction of air coming from outside. These flows are made through two separate orifices of small diameter, and no longer directly through a window or bay window. This represents a considerable advantage. This results in less energy consumption to operate this device. Space-saving, the fixed or semi-mobile monobloc does not take up much space. Quite advantageous to purchase, it still involves the intervention of a refrigeration specialist to be installed in the rules of the art. If you want to regulate the interior temperature, you can afford the upper range, namely an air conditioner which benefits from "Inverter technology". This reversible version makes it possible to benefit from a heating when the outside temperatures are winter.

The mobile split

The mobile split air conditioner is hardly more complex than the monobloc. It is also easily movable, but is made up of two units: one reserved for the outside (composed of a compressor and a composer), the other to be installed inside (the evaporator). The system contains a so-called refrigerant which circulates in a cold air and hot air exchanger. Less noisy than the monobloc air conditioner, it is nevertheless quite powerful while being less energy-consuming. And to cool several rooms at the same time, why not set your sights on the multisplit air conditioner? Operating on the same principle as the split, the multisplit consists of several boxes to be placed in different rooms. Each box - to be fixed according to your preferences, on the ceiling or on the wall - is fitted with a thermostat. It offers a major advantage: regulating the temperature of each room completely independently.
