Seen on the Vitra stand during the last "Salone Internazionale del Mobile" in Milan last April, the Belleville Chair imagined by the Bouroullec brothers already has everything of an iconic piece…

The Bouroullec brothers: a winning design duo

Born in 1971 and 1976 in Quimper, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec studied respectively at the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris and at the National School of Arts in Cergy-Pontoise. First evolving on their own, the two brothers joined forces in 1999 and founded their design studio in Paris. As at ease in the creation of useful objects as in the realization of large architectural projects, Ronan and Erwan sign emblematic realizations of contemporary design, like the "Algue" in 2004, or the "Joyn Office System ", created between 2000 and 2002. Since the birth of their design duo, the Bouroullec brothers have collaborated with the biggest publishers: Vitra, iitala, Kartell, Kreo, Cappellini, Ligne Roset…

Belleville Chair, latest addition to Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec

Published by Vitra, the latest addition to Breton designers, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, combines clean curves and subtle colors, with great seating comfort. A clever blend of technical refinement and elegance, the Belleville Chair stands out thanks to a slender black frame, which draws the feet and the seat back, while accommodating a fine shell, a link between the wide seat and the 'narrow file. Available in colored polypropylene, molded plywood with veneer or with upholstery covered with leather or fabric, this already iconic chair adapts to all environments, whether indoor or outdoor.
